One ov One's garments are the result of an evolving process.

I work with fabric swatches. These are small fabric samples used by the fashion industry as part of the design process. Eventually these have no further use and most are discarded, often ending up in landfill.

I source my stock of fabrics from a wholesale textile business. It's a family run business and they've been committed to the very best quality of cloth for a long time. We share a concern about the waste issues in the fashion industry, as well as the sheer pleasure of working with high quality materials. Many of these beautiful fabrics are limited for showcasing, or not in production, which means that each garment I make can't be repeated. They are one-of-a-kind in the truest sense of the word - there isn't another one.

The unpredictable nature of the making process, from creating the fabric to creating the final garment, is what inspires and drives my practice.

The philosophy behind the work and the name is simple.

One cloth. One garment. One ov One.

All garments are made by hand here in my studio here in Australia
